Every TB patient deserves one record, not four.

X-connect is a web-based digital health tool designed to strengthen patient tracking, reporting, monitoring and surveillance in diagnostic workflows; particularly for tuberculosis care. It improves TB patient linkage, reduces duplicate records, and strengthens continuity of TB care.

X-Connect Dashboard

What Does X-Connect Do?

X-Connect provides comprehensive tools for monitoring, tracking, and managing TB diagnostic workflows across health facilities.

Turnaround Time Dashboard

Tracks TAT end-to-end, from pre-analytical through post-analytical, for both X-ray and GeneXpert, then rolls it into one combined number per facility. Facility-level view surfaces where the bottleneck actually is which gives programme managers a way to compare sites instead of guessing which ones need support.

Machine Status Dashboard

Live view of each X-ray unit's health: uptime, exposure count, last and next maintenance. Technical parameters (tube temp, radiation output, etc) are visible in real time, not just at time of service. visible in real time, not just at time of service. Flags whether a unit is fit for use before a technician has to physically check it — useful for planning maintenance ahead of a breakdown rather than after.

Monitor and Track Usage

Monitor and track usage and performance of the X-Ray machines all over the country. Get real-time insights into machine utilization, maintenance needs, and operational efficiency.

The higher the CAD score, the more likely GeneXpert confirms it.

Because every screening result and lab result share a patient identity, we can trace a CAD score all the way to its confirmatory outcome, and the pattern holds up: positivity rises sharply as CAD score climbs.

CAD Score CXR Screens GeneXpert Tests MTB Detected Positivity Rate

PBC: pulmonary bacteriologically confirmed. Positivity rate = MTB detected ÷ GeneXpert tests run within that band. Only a portion of each band was tested with GeneXpert.

Cut‑off: splits the cohort into high CAD (50–100) and low CAD (0–49). Sensitivity and specificity are calculated once, across the full screened cohort, not separately per row. Diagnostic yield is GeneXpert‑confirmed positives per person screened with X‑ray.

Linkage Between Diagnostic Tools

An innovative, simple, and easy-to-use unique TB Patient ID that enables reliable patient matching.

X-Connect sits alongside the tools your teams already use — AI chest X-ray screening and GeneXpert testing — and adds the one thing that was missing: a patient identity that travels with the result.

  • Eliminates duplicate records
  • Ensures continuity of TB care
  • Links X-ray and GeneXpert results
  • Improves patient tracking across facilities

Frequently Asked Questions

Pulled from the questions we've actually gotten from facility staff and programme managers

Does X-Connect replace our existing CXR AI or GeneXpert systems?+

No. It sits alongside what you're already running and adds the missing piece: a shared patient identity that carries a result from screening into the lab. Your screening tool and GeneXpert machines keep doing exactly what they do now.

Who owns the patient data?+

The programme does. X-Connect is built to sit within your national TB programme's infrastructure and data governance, not ours. We don't retain patient-level data beyond what's needed to run the linkage.

What happens if a facility loses internet connection?+

Records queue locally and sync automatically once the connection is back, so a slow link delays a sync, it doesn't lose a record.

How much training do our staff need?+

Very little. Generating a Patient ID is a single tap, and every user picked it up on day one without formal training. A short onboarding session per site is enough to get a team running.

What if staff forget to enter the Patient ID?+

We're building mandatory ID prompts and auto-sync with GeneXpert into the next release so a record can't quietly skip the step.

Can we pilot X-Connect at a few sites before a full rollout?+

That's exactly how we'd recommend starting. A small-site pilot, similar in shape to the one we ran with the National TB and Leprosy Programme, is a good way to validate fit before scaling nationally.
